Open to all Unifor members.

This workshop will be hosted online through Cisco WebEx, participants will be emailed information on how to join. You must RSVP.

We may be living through a pandemic, but that does not stop us from preparing for activism on the streets with pickets and protests. The injustice and inequalities we were fighting before the pandemic are still alive and well. It is our right, as workers and citizens, to protest and express dissent towards employers, governments or others who may be the cause of daily injustices.

While health and safety restrictions may remain in place for some time, we can still imagine ways to stay within the constraints and achieve our objective of running successful lockout/strike picket lines and related actions. This webinar will discuss creative ideas to continue taking on-the-ground political action during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This session will cover topics such as:

  • Preparing for a picket line or leaflet action during COVID-19 restrictions
  • The role of police authorities during COVID-19
  • On-the-ground communications with members and activists during an action
  • Lawful and peaceful activism during COVID-19
