Valuing Water – UN World Water Day

Open to all Unifor members.

How is water important to your well-being, your home, your family life, your livelihood, your cultural practices, your local environment?

United Nations World Water Day falls on March 22nd every year. World Water Day celebrates water and raises awareness of the people around the globe living without access to safe water. It is about taking action to tackle the global water crisis. What about right here in Canada?  What if you do not have access to clean, safe water during a global pandemic?

Join this powerful discussion hosted by Gina Smoke, Unifor Indigenous Liaison with Pam Palmater, Mi’kmaq lawyer, Ryerson Professor and activist.

Learn about actions that Unifor members can take to push the federal government to ensure that all Indigenous communities have clean, safe water.

Pam Palmater, Mi'kmaq lawyer, Professor at Ryerson University and activist
