Open to all Unifor members.

This workshop will be hosted online through Cisco WebEx, participants will be emailed information on how to join. You must RSVP.

Around the world, government lockdowns in response to the novel coronavirus pandemic have caused economies to fall into sharp recession. How deep and long the recession holds will depend on multiple factors including government action. Unifor is developing a road map for economic recovery that puts workers first. The road map includes five distinct policy areas government must address in order to build a fair, inclusive and resilient economy for everyone. Each day this week, the research department will hold a webinar focussed on one of the five policy areas.

Policy theme 2: Green Jobs and Decarbonisation. Canada needs a massive, historic investment in clean technology, green infrastructure and associated job creation. We can get there by focusing a permanent transit fund on emissions-free technology, building and retrofitting affordable housing to reduce environmental impact, investing in clean innovation in auto and other sectors and establishing a targeted just transition fund.

Join in the discussion to build a better future through green jobs and decarbonisation.
