Please NOTE we reimburse local’s ONLY not individual members as per the “2024 Local Reimbursement Guidelines found here.” This course is eligible for 50/50 reimbursement.
This course is open to elected financial officers, trustees and full executives of our Union.
Description:
The Local Union Finances online course provides local union finance officers (financial secretary, secretary-treasurer, or trustees) with the information, tools and resources necessary to do their work effectively.
We combine theory and practice, individual and group work, lecture, and discussion, all in an informal atmosphere. This course also aims to offer participants resources that support their work alongside an opportunity to share experiences and learn from one another. Key components of the course include dues calculations, bank reconciliations, budgets, financial reports and quarterly audits.

Important Note: Our program runs on Zoom and starts at 8:30 a.m. ET and runs until 4:30 p.m. each day to accommodate participants from coast to coast. You will receive an email with more details prior to the course.
Course requirements: a computer equipped with a web camera (webcam) as well as a microphone and speakers (or headphones), and a stable internet connection. It will not be possible to join the course by phone. You must be able to join independently in order to participate in the course and with the material.
