Open to all Unifor members.

This workshop will be hosted online through Cisco WebEx, participants will be emailed information on how to join. You must RSVP.

Around the world, government lockdowns in response to the novel coronavirus pandemic have caused economies to fall into sharp recession. How deep and long the recession holds will depend on multiple factors including government action. Unifor is developing a road map for economic recovery that puts workers first. The road map includes five distinct policy areas government must address in order to build a fair, inclusive and resilient economy for everyone. Each day this week, the research department will hold a webinar focussed on one of the five policy areas.

Policy theme 1: Income Security. Government must build a robust income security system that repairs Employment Insurance, strengthens employment standards and increases employment security. Canada’s workers deserve better now and in the future. What does a re-imagined income security system look like to ensure the gaping holes are sewn shut?

Join in the discussion to build a better future through an income security system that protects all workers.
