The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) was introduced in late April by the federal government and provides employers with wage subsidies for workers who are still on payroll, whether they are actively working or on paid leave. In late July, the government announced that the CEWS would be phased out by the end of 2020 and implemented significant changes to the program. This seminar will provide an overview of the new program rules and their impact on the amount of subsidy that employers can now expect to receive, starting in August.
