Open to all Unifor members.
This workshop will be hosted online through Cisco WebEx, participants will be emailed information on how to join. You must RSVP.
Around the world, government lockdowns in response to the novel coronavirus pandemic have caused economies to fall into sharp recession. How deep and long the recession holds will depend on multiple factors including government action. Unifor is developing a road map for economic recovery that puts workers first. The road map includes five distinct policy areas government must address in order to build a fair, inclusive and resilient economy for everyone. Each day this week, the research department will hold a webinar focussed on one of the five policy areas.
Policy theme 5: Strong, Enforceable Conditions on Corporate Support Packages. The depth of this crisis indicates corporations large and small will be in need of loans and grants in order to withstand the sharp decline in demand for products and services. Government must ensure any rescue packages are accompanied by strong, enforceable conditions that direct benefits to workers, not executives and shareholders. Find out how.
Join in the discussion to build a better future by instituting strong, enforceable conditions on corporate support packages.
