Rebuilding long-term care for the long-term: stories from the front line

Open to all Unifor members.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the long-term care system has failed to uphold the health and dignity of both residents and workers. What happened in nursing homes across the country is nothing short of a tragedy. Public support to fix long-term care and build a stronger, more resilient system of care has never been stronger.

Now is the time to push for lasting change in a sector so that people across the country can depend on it. Join us for this workshop as we hear stories from the Unifor members who have experienced the last few months on the front line of the pandemic, and strategize for the way forward to fix long-term care.

All Unifor members are welcome, and space will be made for health and long-term care workers who have first-hand testimonies to share. Stories shared during this session will be recorded in a confidential and anonymous way to provide testimonial evidence to the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care Staffing Committee and other government bodies as they investigate the oversight of long-term care during the pandemic.

This workshop will be hosted online through Cisco WebEx, participants will be emailed information on how to join. You must RSVP.
